Introduction: About myself

I am Fidelis from Nigeria, a country in West Africa. I was born into a family of six (four boys and two girls) and my parents are retired civil servants.

I am a dedicated scholar with a rich academic background spanning multiple disciplines. I earned my bachelor's degree in Zoology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in 2006, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Usman dan Fodio University, Sokoto, in 2009. Continuing my pursuit of knowledge, I achieved a master’s degree in educational Measurement and Evaluation from Imo State University, Owerri, in 2011, all within Nigeria. With a passion for advancing educational methodologies, I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Science Education at the School of Education, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, USA, beginning in January 2024.

I served as an Education Officer/Inspector with the State Ministry of Education, Anambra State, Nigeria, for six years (2013-2019), where I played a pivotal role in shaping educational policies and practices. Subsequently, I contributed my expertise as an instructor at the Federal College of Education, Okene, Kogi State, Nigeria, for four years (2019-2023). There, I taught educational measurement and evaluation, physiological psychology, and psychological testing to undergraduate students, as well as research methodologies and statistical analysis to postgraduate diploma students in education.

My research interests lie at the intersection of technology and pedagogy, focusing on leveraging innovative technologies to enhance formative assessment and student engagement in learning. I strongly believe that with the help of my current class in computer mediated learning, I will be equipped with the necessary tools to achieve my highest potential of becoming a professor in education, capable of applying and integrating knowledge with trends in innovation and technology.

  1. What an interesting background, Fidelis. Welcome to this class. I hope you learn a ton of relevant things here and, in turn, teach others about them, both here in the USA and in Nigeria.
